What the competition actually sells
Every other Etsy research tool estimates sales from proxies — review counts, listing age, guesswork. We measure them. MakerWords snapshots each shop's cumulative transaction count over time, so the change between snapshots is real orders, not a model. We have been doing that since March 2026 across more than 1.5 million shops.
What a report contains
- The competitor benchmark. Orders per week for the median shop you'd be up against, the top decile, and the share selling nothing at all.
- Revenue estimate with its error bars. Measured order velocity multiplied by an average order value derived from each shop's own listing prices — presented as a range, never as fake precision.
- Price position. Where the money clusters and which bands are thin.
- Six-month trajectory. Whether this market is growing, flat, or cooling — from a balanced panel of the same shops measured at both ends, not a snapshot.
- What we can't tell you, stated plainly: per-listing sales, realised discounts, and shipping are not observable from outside Etsy.
These aren't available to buy yet
We're deciding whether to build them, and we'd rather ask than assume. The data behind every bullet above already exists — the work is turning it into something worth $49. Tell us you want one and we'll come back to you first, with a discount for being early. No charge now, and no card.
